9anime.to
Many websites allow viewers to stream in various video qualities; 9Anime provides high-quality streams with a plethora of unique features.
There is little known about the history and creation of the website. However, there is a Frequently Asked Questions section available, as well as a contact form and request for specific media.
Website Design
The website design has some issues. The biggest flaw is the large number of pop-ups. There are also a lot of ads in sidebars and headers. Navigation on the streaming site is slowed down by the ads. Users have to click multiple times on links to reach their destinations.
The website's layout is good. The main menu is clean and includes the perfect options. From left to right it reads genre, newest, latest update, ongoing, types, schedule, request, movies, and random. The sidebar menu is a shortcut to filtering through the content. There is also an A-Z sorting list at the footer of the page.
The website is visually appealing, with a default mode that is dark mode. It has hints of purples and greys mixed with black, and the text logo matches the color. The purple highlights make reading text in this mode easy. One feature that I find interesting is the change mode button in the bottom right of the website, which when users flip it changes the color scheme from night-mode to a bright crisp white, purple, and grey color scheme. The modes swap so flawlessly it looks like someone turned on a light in a room.
Content
The 9Anime website features an impressive collection of titles. There are many different types of media available, including anime and manga. The website is regularly updated to keep up with new series.
Anime stocks a large library of subtitled and dubbed shows. There are many popular shows that are airing right now that Anime keeps up with. They also have quite a few older shows, which range from TV shows to movies to ongoing series to fresh and new series to OVAs, ONAs, and specials.
The genres available on 9Anime are extremely impressive. Some of the genres include action/adventure, cars, comedy, dementia, demons, drama, ecchi, fantasy, game, harem, historical, horror, kids' movies, magic, martial arts, military films, music videos , mystery fiction , parody,, romance,, school-themed films , sci-fi,, shoujo manga , shounen manga , slice of life films , sports anime , thriller anime , vampire anime and yaoi anime . There are many titles in each genre. Your options are endless on 9Anime.
Another feature of 9Anime is its comprehensive description section. Each anime has information sections, including type, studio, date aired, status, genre, scores, rating, duration, quality, and views.
Desktop & Mobile Accessibility
The desktop version of this website is not very good. Users find it hard to stay interested due to the overwhelming amount of advertisements and pop-ups. The navigation is hindered greatly by these distractions, making it difficult for users to find what they are looking for.
There is no mobile application for 9Anime. The mobile browser version of the website seems to have a better layout. The visuals on the mobile look amazing. However, the pop-ups are still rampant. The load time on mobile felt a little slower. Overall, I still think the mobile may be the best version to use.
Positives
Some really unique features that 9Anime uses are the autoplay and auto-next buttons. I really love the reminder that this website has of other good streaming websites forgetting to add these. The video and audio quality of this website is also top-notch quality.
The Frequently Asked Questions section of the website is a great way to answer common questions for users. Sometimes the legality of streaming websites is questionable, but 9Anime does a great job reassuring users that it operates within the law.
The chibi anime characters are a very cute addition to the site. The change theme button is pretty amazing. If you flip the switch, the website changes from night mode to a lighter version. Another interesting feature I found on the website was the random button. If you click it, the website sends you to a random title. It is a fun way to watch something different without sorting through the library.
There is an immense library on 9Anime. The website keeps up with current ongoing anime and updates frequently. They also stock a large number of older anime in subtitled and dubbed versions. The best part of the library is the sorting system, which is phenomenal. There are so many ways to organize the titles, making it easy to find what you're looking for.
The information section is an incredibly useful tool. The description includes the type, studio, date aired, status, genre, scores, rating, duration, and quality of each show. It is perfect for viewers who want to know the complete history of the title they are watching.
Negatives
There are few negatives about 9Anime. The biggest issue is the ads. They are so intrusive and non-stop that it hampers the viewing experience. It's difficult to judge a website based on this because advertising support is what keeps them alive.
Another negative is the slow load times. For the most part, the video and audio quality are great. The load time, at the beginning, is somewhat slow. Load times for other pages and general navigation are incredibly slow.
Improvements Needed
The biggest improvements that could be made to 9Anime would be to find ways other than ads and advertisements to support the website. If the advertisements were about half as many as there are currently this website would be at the top of my best anime streaming sites list. Unfortunately, it is such a glaring issue that it cannot be ignored. If there was a social media presence that could ask for donations that may be a way to cut down some. Another tactic I have seen streaming sites use is to create a community and start Discord servers. These usually create a sense of friendship and make viewers more likely to donate.
Creating a mobile application would be another great way for the website to improve. It would be difficult to do, as the website uses 3rd party links, but I'm sure there is a way that it could work. The app could serve as a viewing platform, as well as a community hub if comments or forums are allowed.
Summary
The website anime is easily one of the top anime streaming websites. If there were fewer advertisements and pop-ups, I would say it is the best one out there. However, the pop-ups are so bothersome that it is a chore to keep closing them while navigating the website.
The desktop website has ads that are scattered throughout the website. The mobile website is much more polished with less ads. I recommend viewing the mobile website when possible.
Overall, I would recommend using this website with caution. If you have antivirus software or a pop-up blocker, you will be fine. The content is amazing and the website has a lot to offer beyond the ads.
