Over the last few years, there has been a notable increase in the number of premium and free streaming sites available in India. This growth is nothing short of impressive, as it has seen a wealth of high-quality streaming sites pop up all over the country. Combined with the fact that India, seemingly overnight, has become one of the cornerstones of streaming entertainment in the world, this recent development has made India one of the best places to watch streaming content on the market today!
There are a handful of different types of Indian streaming sites, including free TV streaming sites and new Over The Top (OTT) cable TV streaming services that provide a breadth of live TV streaming, as well as a vast library of on-demand content (usually for a monthly fee). India has also seen the expansion of its own group of premium streaming services, too, that are meant to compete directly with services such as Netflix and Hulu.
Regardless of which route one chooses to follow, at the end of the day, India wins. This is because these companies are in competition with one another, but all this means to entertainment lovers such as myself is that we have more options available - more movie and TV streaming sites that are vying for our subscriptions - therefore, each service is constantly stepping its game up, trying to offer the best selection of content at the best prices. There has never been a better time to watch TV, that's for sure.
One of the pioneers in bringing the best TV streaming products to India is Airtel. That's right, in addition to being one of the most popular and widely used phone providers, Airtel is also responsible for some of the most innovative and exciting movie and TV streaming sites, apps, and products available in India today. Given their history with communications infrastructure and hardware, this has given Airtel a leg up on the competition, allowing them to offer what essentially is a self-contained streaming cable network to millions of people across India (and abroad).
Airtel Xstream is more than just a premium TV streaming service. In a broad sense, it can be solely that. But if you want more than just an app, Airtel Xstream has available products that go above and beyond. Some of these products include the free TV streaming app, as well as other products such as the Airtel Xstream App for Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV.
I presume you could liken Airtel Xstream to Roku in some ways; in addition to offering a streaming app and desktop TV streaming site, Airtel Xstream also offers a plug-in stick. Just like the Roku stick, plug the Airtel Xstream stick into your TV?s HMDI port and sit back as your TV transforms into a streaming entertainment powerhouse, all of which can be controlled via the stick?s complimentary Airtel Xstream remote control. The best part about this? Itâs mobile, so you can access your Xstream content on any TV, no matter where you happen to be.
If you would like to have a more expansive and interactive experience with your Airtel Xstream service, you can always purchase the box. This device plugs into your TV and connects to the internet to bring you movies, add-on apps, games, music, and TV channels. It is also compatible with Chrome Cast and has a handy voice command and search feature.
Finally, for those of us who require a more powerful, comprehensive internet and entertainment experience, there is Airtel Xstream Fiber. Branded as an extremely powerful "office-like" internet service, Fiber provides you with 1 Gbps internet speeds with unlimited data, WIFI phone calling and a fixed landline. Oh, and, of course, Airtel Xstream Fiber also comes with the fully unlocked, premium TV streaming capabilities. This is how many customers get the most out of Airtel Xstream. In my estimation, though, it is probably not entirely necessary unless you have an extremely large family or you run a business (just my opinion). Either way, this internet service is unrivaled in terms of speed and connectivity.
For our purposes today, we will be mainly focusing on Airtel Xstream, which seems like the most logical place to start when looking for a good TV streaming site. If Airtel Xstream's most basic service is good enough for you, then you can start thinking about upgrades and hardware purchases. So, is Airtel Xstream indeed the best TV streaming site in India? Let's dive in and take a look, shall we?
Design
When I first visited airtelxstream.in, I was impressed by the site's dynamic, immersive, and intuitive design. This design looks as if Airtel Xstream has borrowed a few design tricks of the trade from its competitors (and, in some cases, its partners), such as Netflix and Hulu. At the very top of the page is a site menu bar that enables you to navigate the site by broad categories, such as Movies, Live TV, TV Shows, Kids, News, and Sports. This gives the site a simple and easy to use navigation which I am always on board with.
Below the site menu bar, you will find a large banner of featured titles. As you scroll down the home page, you will find a fairly familiar layout: horizontally side-scrolling libraries of movies and TV shows, each separated by category. Hover your cursor over one and the title and genre reveals itself. This adds a nice touch of dynamism to the site design, making it more experiential than other TV streaming sites I have seen.
One interesting twist to the Airtel Xstream design that I have not seen before is the fact that one of these menus allows you to browse by popular Bollywood director. I like quirks like this. This is not only a fun way to browse content, but also an additional organizational structure, making it even more intuitive to browse content in many different ways.
Content and Features
Airtel Xstream has a large amount of content available, including syndicated programming, live TV channels, movies, and special events. There are over 10,000 titles to choose from on-demand, and Airtel Xstream also provides access to over 350 live TV channels. This is more than enough content for most people, and the monthly subscription price is very affordable.
Airtel Xstream offers an abundance of live and on-demand television content, as well as exclusive originals. This service is perfect for those who want to stay entertained all evening long.
Airtel Xstream is an online streaming site that offers 13 different languages to enjoy content from. From Hindi to Tamil to English to Marathi and more, there is something for everyone on this site.
Mobile and Desktop Experience
It is not every day that I come across a TV streaming site that is as pristine on a desktop computer as it is on a mobile device. The mobile app is available on both iOS and Android devices, and it has virtually flawless performance. Watch live TV or browse Airtel Xstream?s 10,000+ movies and TV shows from this exceptional mobile app, unlocking a whole world of entertainment no matter where you happen to be.
Pricing and Plans
Airtel Xstream offers a tiered subscription model. The monthly cost, mind you, of Airtel Xstream services rendered over the stick, the box, or the fiber plan vary greatly and are not reflected here. The prices that I am about to outline are per user/month/user account with access to the app and site only. Although some content can be accessed for free if you are already an Airtel customer, the price for Airtel Xstream Premium is as follows: Rs360/month (price depends on your current Airtel Xstream plan, though).
