We are so grateful to Bravo TV for being such an integral part of our lives. Its reality shows depict our feelings in the most truthful way possible, without any fabrication. That's why so many people can relate to them. Bravo TV with its plethora of good and bad programs makes you want to stream online. From its breakout stars to its critically acclaimed originals, Bravo's programming network is nothing short of addictive.
Bravo TV is one of my favorite channels for watching reality-based lifestyle programming. The channel offers a great variety of fashion, beauty, design, food and pop culture programming. Its content is engaging and I find myself compelled to tune in every week because of the compelling narratives.
Bravo TV - Capturing People?s Imagination
I love the ?The Real Housewives? series. People used to ask me how they could watch it online, and I started to get the hype because the show's success has led Bravo to produce over nine iterations of the show. The tenth one is set to air in 2020.
I had judged that all the buzz around this show was only around it. Later, I found that hundreds of queries surrounding ?Dirty John? were on my dashboard. All of these queries and engagement are the testimony of Bravo TV's content which has been able to capture people's imagination. Much of that can be accredited to the relatability and gossip culture.
History
Bravo was launched on December 1, 1980. A long time ago, Bravo was afine arts and creative films channel that NBC Universal owned. As time passed and Bravo transitioned into a Reality TV phenomenon, it has come a long way! Bravo is now owned by NBC Universal and focuses on Reality TV shows.
Bravo has been a mainstay for daily shows on US television in the past two decades, with reality television becoming a larger part of the channel's programming in recent years. Originally known for its independent films, Bravo has gradually transitioned to reality television over the past two decades, with shows such as ?Southern Charm?, ?Shahs of Sunset?, ?Top Chef? and ?Real Housewives? becoming popular.
Design
I find Bravo TV's website and mobile app design to be unattractive. The white and dark blue color combination looks good together, but the layout of the website looks more like a news site than a streaming network. The category tab contains shows, episodes, and videos, news, and schedule information on the left side, and apps on the right.
If you click any of the options on the homepage, you'll have an abrupt experience - not feature-wise, but aesthetically. For instance, if you click on "Shows > Basically Stassi," a random banner with blue and pink gradient appears which in no way relates to what you saw on the homepage. Thus, there's not much of a sense of uniformity on the website or app.
And all of the other widgets are crammed in between them.
Most of the shows on the website do not have a banner that stands out, so when you click on them, you see a cluttered mosaic video arrangement which does not make you feel good. There is too much happening on every page. On each inside page, there are ?Most Popular? or ?Latest News? widgets placed at a random position. And all of the other widgets are crammed in between them.
I did not enjoy the website's use of hashtags to engage the audience because it is possible that this was done due to a lack of space. Even the TV Guide and Schedule do not appeal to me - there is literally no appeal to it.
If you thought that only the blog section was terrible, wait until you see their website. Overall, it just looks that NBC doesn't care about the visual appeal and is driven by placing content that can generate revenue.
Content
While Bravo TV's design and layout is disorderly, I cannot say the same about its content. Its content is really what makes the difference. It keeps you glued and, if you're like me, you wouldn't mind paying $4-5/month for this network alone solely for its content. Bravo has been the most viewed cable TV channel among female viewers for 2017 and 2019. Bravo TV has generated 109MM live streams, which come at an estimated +109% YOY growth. Though Bravo is available through Set-top-box VOD, TV Everywhere, it's Bravo TV - its streaming service that's making all the noise.
In 2018, the network's top five ad-supported scripted series were Dirty John, Southern Charm, Below Deck, Vanderpump Rules, and Below Deck Mediterranean. All of these series are doing well with average viewership ranging from 2.4 to 2.3 million viewers in the age group 18-49.
The following are some of the TV shows that are popular among viewers: "Basically Stassi," "Below Deck," "Blind Date," "Married to Medicine?" "Project Runway?" "Spy Games?" "Summer House?" "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" along with RHOD, RHONJ, RHOOC? (Dallas, New Jersey, Orange County), ?Vanderpump Rules? and ?Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.?
How do you stream content on the Bravo TV website?
By selecting your TV Provider and logging in with your credentials, you're required to find your provider and login to your account.
Desktop/Mobile experience
A significant difference between Bravo TV and Investigation Discovery is that Bravo TV allows users to watch previews on its website before the episodes air, whereas ID does not. The previews take forever to load and are filled with 1-minute ads, which makes it frustrating for viewers who want to see the episodes on Bravo TV. The moment you think about the bad website experience, there comes the app to make you feel better about it.
Many users have expressed their discontent with Bravo Now app, citing its poor performance and user friendliness as issues.
Mobile App experience is horrendous
Starting today, the App Store will only offer ad-laden previews of shows for users who do not have upgraded to a premium cable service or purchased episodes through iTunes. Those who have upgraded or purchased episodes through iTunes will continue to enjoy previews in high quality. If you are considering upgrading your cable service but are unsure if it is worth it, remember that the App Store previews do not provide a full representation of the show and are often incomplete. Additionally, spending money on iTunes content may not be worth your time as there are many shows available for free on the App Store.
Compatibility is the only positive
The app is compatible with a wide range of services and by signing up for an NBC Universal profile within the app, you can sync your favorite shows and track the progress.
Plans & Pricing

Purchase Shows Online
If you don't want to commit to any network, you can simply go and purchase online shows from iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, or Vudu. For instance, if you just want to watch "Dirty John," you can buy a whole season for around $25-30. This is a great option if you aren't a frequent television viewer and don't intend to subscribe to a particular streaming service.
Suggestions I have for Bravo TV
Praise television's content prowess! If developers could match its digital presence with its quality content, this app would work wonderfully. I would love to see NBC roll out an individual platform for Bravo TV where users can subscribe for $5-6 a month.
Conclusion
Bravo TV is a great content provider with a need for digital reinvention. If you love reality TV, you'll definitely get hooked to its originals. Currently, it's available as part of cable, satellite, and streaming network offerings and can be streamed for free if you have the membership.
