Hubi is an Android application that allows users to watch and download their favorite content. The amount of services supported by Hubi is bonkers. It supports all major content hosting sites providing you quality content links that offer stable streaming. Although, the early days were challenging because of the hosting issue on the content uploader?s site, Hubi benefited the most from the influx of such websites. The massive influx of such websites meant that each content host had to up its game, and that's where Hubi benefited the most.

At the start of the 2000s, when streaming was not mainstream, users loved to download movies and TV shows as opposed to streaming them online. Even today, you will meet a great number of people who prefer downloading content over streaming it, especially those who love movies and TV shows. I personally have five hard drives of 1 TB filled with content from over the years. And I am sure I am not the only one. However, all the content I have is pre-2015. Once Netflix and other streaming services became mainstream, I just stopped downloading content and started streaming.
We are going to be reviewing an app that is known for its downloading and streaming capabilities. Back then, this app offered an ultimate Android solution for people looking to download their favorite movies and TV shows via a free platform. Though the demand for the app has gone down, it is still operational today. This app is none other than Hubi.

What is Hubi?

Hubi is a streaming and downloading app that enables users to stream and download a wide range of content, including movies, TV shows, and anime. Unlike today, where smartphone streaming is quite usual, Hubi was a breakthrough app allowing smartphone users to download entertainment content for free. For users curious about how it used to work - Hubi wasn't direct streaming or downloading app. It just served as a platform where you would find links to various third-party websites. This rule of operation is still in place on streaming services today.

List of Supported Services

The Hubi app offers 180 supported services, including AllMyVideos, BillionUploads, DaClips DivXStage, DwnSo, EcoStream, FileBox, FileNuke, MovReel, MovShare, MovPod, GorillaVid, MuchShare, NosVideos, NovaMov, NowVideo, Putlocker, Share Six , ShareRepro , SockShare , Stage Vu , Stream Cloud and Upload C. Additionally there are 78 supported services that are exclusive to the Hubi app such as Upload Hero and Vee HD. Lastly there are 4 unsupported services Zinwa and Zalaa.

What should you expect from the Hubi App?

Though back in the KitKat and JellyBean days, the user interface was clean and appealing, it doesn't feel that way anymore. That's because developers today are emphasizing on the form along with functionality. Since Hubi was shining in 2013 and 2014, the developers didn't pay attention to updating the interface after that period. So, saying that Hubi's interface is outdated would be an understatement. Because if you see it today, you'll find it cartoonish with 3D elements. Much of which can be accredited to brands adopting a flat layout design. But again, it's the developers who should have paid attention and must have innovated the app as per market standards.

External Video Player

Streaming services today lack flexibility. With APKs, you were able to achieve a great deal of freedom and do things your way. For instance, to watch a video, you were not just limited to the in-built player. You were allowed to use external players such as MoboPlayer, VPlayer, MXPlayer, and VLC. Even today, you can make use of this functionality. Personally, I feel that a lot of freedom in content consumption and operational functions have been reduced.

Sharing features

Hubi is a social media platform that provides a social sharing option for streaming services as well as the ability to keep track of the watched videos. This feature is found in premium streaming services.

Download Options

Hubi allows users to download content from its website on their mobile devices in the background. Previously, this was not possible without staying on the app until the download was complete; however, that is no longer the case. Users can now download any content from the website and watch it offline at any given time, without requiring a flash player. Additionally, even when streaming online, Hubi's built-in player works unaffected.

Downloading Content

You can download content from streaming sites, especially major sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. Though the download speed isn't great, it does get the job done. The download panel is minimalistic and comes with a copy and paste button where the link copied in your clipboard can be pasted instantly.

Streaming Content

Hubi does not work properly today given that it was developed for devices such as Jelly Bean and KitKat. But even back then, the app did not allow viewers to download everything. There were invalid errors back then which used to pop-up frequently. This caused inconsistency and drove viewers nuts, harming their credibility.

Hubi App Information

The app was first made available in the year 2010, and it is fair to assume that it died in 2015. Hubi's last major update was 0.50.3, which rolled out in 2015. In terms of size, the app even then was not a lightweight app, as the file size was above 15 MB. Ever since the 2015 update, there has been no update on the app, and according to a portal, it works on any Android device version above 2.2.

How to access Hubi?

You should access Hubi directly by visiting the website. I don't know why you would want to download this app, but if you do, make sure you use a trustworthy website. Dwelling in nostalgia can prove to be costly if you rely on any other third-party streaming site.
Since the developers have made an effort to provide us with the app via APK Pure, it seems safest to download the app this way. If you're new to downloading APKs, follow these points:
file and install it on your phone - The Android app will allow you to access the internet while offline - This is a great feature if you need to stay connected without aninternet connection
- Click on the Unknown Sources checkbox to enable it. - This will allow you to install apps from unknown sources.
to your device - The app will help you learn about the plant The app will be installed to your device and it will help you learn about the plant.

The app's 3D icons and elements with blue borders on every button evoke a nostalgic feeling. The best I can do is refer to the user interface as being basic and straightforward. The blue, black, and transparent panels with massive icons and outdated social media icons used to be effective in the past. However, today the app comes off as spammy due to its complex interface. One thing that I liked about Hubi was that it was easy to find content. All you had to do was search for it, and if you found it, you could stream or download it.

App Homepage

Finally, you have a ?Forum? section below the download button. The homepage of the website starts with a gray header section. You will find a logo on the left and three options towards the right - "Share," "Clipboard," and "Additional options." Under these options, you will find a search bar where you are required to paste the link. The search bar has a sleek "Download" button below it. Under that, you have a "Remove Ads" option at the center, and social icons - Facebook and Twitter towards the right. Finally, you have a "Forum" section below the download button.

Inner Pages

There are no inner pages on this app. The Android player or an additional third-party player can be used to stream. So, you paste the link into the search bar, and it?ll either redirect you to the external website if you want to stream or will download the app if you click on the download button.

Desktop/Mobile experience

My experience with this platform was good. Back in the day, it was seen as a revolutionary service. However, in today's time it isn't relevant because neither does it support the infrastructure, and it can't keep up with the file size we have nowadays. So, we can just see it as a beautiful app with an amazing past.

Suggestions I have for Hubi

I don't think there is a lot of potential for this app to be revived. Since the developers discontinued it five years ago, I'm not sure if they would want to make it again. However, if they do want to revive it, my main suggestion would be to revise the aesthetics.

In 2020, there is nothing that will excite you about this video downloader app. You can download it if you want to reminisce about past apps. However, it has nothing more to offer. Don't get too worked up, and don't expect much from this app.
