As streaming services have become more prevalent, many people have started to watch their favorite content for free. Among movie and television show enthusiasts, there are many people who love anime. Anime as an art appeals to a wide range of audience thanks to the epic plots and contemporary animation. Though the Japanese culture has been at the forefront of this anime revolution, this piece of art has taken over the world relatively quickly.
Many anime fans watch anime in two ways - subbed and dubbed. Major distributors have taken it upon themselves to provide a dubbed version for non-Japanese viewers. However, at the heart of it, true anime fans prefer the subbed version over the dubbed one. Nonetheless, that doesn't mean that there's no demand for the dubbed version. Many of the anime found life in the west after their dubbed versions were made available in western countries and other Asian countries.
Today, we are reviewing a website that has dubs in its name. Thus, as a viewer, you would know what to expect on this streaming website.
What is JustDub?
Just Dubs is a great website for finding all your favorite dubbed anime in one place. Be it Death Note, Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer, or One Piece, you'll find all of the popular shows on this network. It's a free website where users can watch anime in high quality. Just Dub has a decent content library of over 600 series - all of which are available in the English iteration. The website is similar to popular anime and manga-related websites, making browsing around the platform not difficult.
Why should you stream on JustDubs?
JustDubs is a website that allows its users to stream content from various sources. Many people find this website useful for watching movies and TV shows. I enjoy using this website because it has many wonderful features.
Great Interface
Unlike the major anime-centric websites, JustDubs has a more professional approach in comparison to the fancy one. The dark background with purple menus really stands out in my opinion. It's not just the design that catches your attention but the menus and different sections as well. The content is very well segregated and thus it's easier to find what you're looking for.
Aesthetically pleasing
The design features and user-friendly functions of the website are commendable. There are numerous categories with six thumbnail images each, and sections such as "Latest Episodes," "Latest Animes," and "Latest Cartoons?" which help keep you updated on all the content being updated on the website.
Anime Directory
I really love how each series has a directory of Anime under the video player. This works like a playlist, so even if you click on any random episode, you'll be able to track back all the episodes that can start from scratch. The Anime directory is very helpful if you're a new user and if you're an anime lover, you're definitely going to love this feature. Most users don't like to spoil an anime session and thus they prefer watching from the first episode.
Sorting feature
The sorting feature on the website catches my attention. There are multiple ways in which you can sort the content. First, you can try and sort using the genres. Other than that, you can try sorting by TV/Movie, Ongoing/Completed, Ascending/Descending, and Alphabetical arrangement. You can choose any option and then click on the filter option.
Why shouldn?t you stream on JustDubs?
One thing I really like about anime websites is their integrated video player which eliminates malware and other malpractices. There is no redirection and you are able to stream content on the website itself. In addition to the misclicks and intrusive adverts, there are quite a few pop-ups that you need to deal with first before you can start streaming.
How to access JustDubs?
To access JustDubs, you can search for the term on the first page of your search results or you can use the following link: JustDubs. Before accessing the website, make sure that you are using an active VPN to protect your identity from hackers and malware.
Design
I find the dark theme on this website appealing. The blue background with a purple menu and white text look great to me. I do not like the logo, however, as it does not stand out and makes the website appear spammy. Apart from the logo, all of the interface elements, menus, fonts, and thumbnail look great.
Header
The header section of the website is positioned prominently at the center of the hero section. There is a logo in the top right corner and five key menu options on a purple background. These are ?Anime Series?, ?Cartoon Series?, ?Ongoing Anime?, ?Movies?, and ?Random?. These are all standard menus found on all other websites.
Hero Section
Though the majority of the hero section starts later than the header section, it still manages to pack some crucial information. Right at the start, you can find two different categories - Latest Episodes for Anime and Latest Episodes for Toon. Each of these categories has six thumbnails.
Body
JustDubs continues the good work with their new body section. It comprises different sections such as the ?Latest Anime? and ?Latest Cartoons?. Each of these sections has six thumbnails in a single row, which makes each category have twelve vertical banners.
Footer
I was disappointed to see that there were no navigation buttons or other information in the footer section. There is just the copyright text and thus the footer is pretty much useless.
Inner Pages
I enjoyed the inner pages, which have a layout similar to the homepage except they come with sorting options. There are six vertical thumbnails in each row and you can sort the content based upon alphabetical order, genre, status, and language. Simply choose your options and click on the filter button to access the content as per your taste.
Content
JustDubs offers a vast amount of anime content, including popular series like Beastars, Castlevania, KonoSuba, In/Spectre, and Cagaster of an Insect Cage.
This website provides dubbed anime series, including Dragon Ball, Pokemon, One Piece, Naruto, and Death Note. Additionally, there are recent cartoons such as ?Tuca and Bertie?, ?DC Super Hero Girls 2019?, ?Sherwood?, ?Carmen Sandiego?, ?Power Rangers Beast Morphers?, ?WTF 101? and ?Gen:Lock?.
Desktop/Mobile experience
I streamed JustDubs on my Asus Vivobook 15 and I found the website to be average at best. The most happening thing on the website was the playlist, which allows you to binge watch without any obstruction, and the next episode button, which makes it easy to continue watching an episode when you have time.
Just Dubs is a platform that features a lot of ads. There are vignette ads followed by several pop-up ads. The sidebar has various banners and third-party links. What's worse is that JustDubs works as a content aggregator instead of the content host, so if the original sites decide to take down the content, it will no longer be available on the platform. Additionally, there is no auto-play feature or standout video player.
Suggestions I have for JustDubs
There is much room for improvement on this website, JustDubs. It is far from perfection and I believe with time and effort, the developers can fix major loopholes. The ads, pop-ups, and streaming qualities can be fixed. I just hope that the developers pay attention to that.
Conclusion
JustDubs is a good website to watch anime series. However, the streaming quality is fairly average and fails to live up to the expectations set by the design and intuitive user interface.
