As a parent, I'm interested in finding the best streaming site for my kids. I want them to watch cartoons that are entertaining and educational, but also substantive and beneficial. I don't want them to just sit in front of the computer watching garbage! Another thing I am always conscious of as a parent is finding ways to save money. Let's face it, kids are expensive! Studies show that a single child from birth to age 18, on average, costs over a million dollars. And that's not even factoring in the costs of college or the fact that kids are starting to continue to live with their parents well beyond the age of 18 these days. Therefore, if you ask me, every bit of money saved is worth it.

I am not complaining; I love my children. Even if they are the reason that I will never be a millionaire, it is totally worth it. The joy and pride my children make me feel is far more valuable than any amount of money, obviously, but still, money is important. Which is why finding the best Cartoon Streaming Site for my children is not enough. These days, with money as tight as it is, I need to find the best free Cartoon Streaming Site for my children. I just can't justify adding yet another premium streaming subscription to my ever-growing stack of monthly bills!

Fortunately, there are many great streaming sites available to parents on a budget. We are living through the streaming revolution, and it is a wonderful time to be alive. Therefore, there are many great options for parents who want to be able to provide premium streaming content for their children without having to pay premium streaming prices. In fact, there are so many free cartoon streaming sites to choose from that it can be somewhat of a daunting task trying to figure out which one to go with.

Naturally, you want to vet everything before letting your kids watch it; if you're like me, you don't let your children browse the internet unsupervised. However, time is hard to come by, which is why I have gone through the trouble of vetting some of the best free cartoon streaming sites for you. All you have to do is read my quick (but comprehensive) cartoon streaming site reviews to figure out which is going to be the right one for your family.

Among the various features and benefits of different cartoon streaming sites, the nature of the content is an important consideration. Sites that offer a wide variety of age-appropriate content are more likely to be popular with parents, while those that primarily feature mature content may not be suitable for younger viewers. In addition to considering the type of content available, it's also important to look at site design and user interface, as well as mobile apps and availability.

Which brings me to the site that we will be looking at today, Ketnet. For Belgian families, there is a good chance that this is not the first time you are hearing about Ketnet. Before it became one of the best cartoon streaming sites on the web, it was a popular public children's TV channel owned and operated by Flemish public broadcaster VRT. Still airing today, Ketnet airs a blend of locally created programs and imported series. If you still watch TV the old-fashioned way (no shame there!), you can catch Ketnet on VRT3 between the hours of 6am and 8pm every day.

Since replacing BRTN 3 on December 1st 1997, Ketnet has been a favorite children's TV program among Canadians. Alongside the classic Ketnet programming, Canvas airs Ketnet's preschool programming, under the brand name Ketnet Junior. This broadcasts between 10am and 7pm on Canvas. Additionally, be sure to let your French friends know about the Ouiftivi, the French version of Ketnet, available on La Trois.

If you have already cut the cord and say goodbye to traditional TV viewing, Ketnet has some great news for you: a huge portion of their programming can be streamed on-demand via Ketnet.be. In addition to watching just about every Ketnet show without having to worry about time constraints or when things air, Ketnet offers games and an interactive site that will keep your kids entertained for hours.

Design

Speaking of site design, Ketnet provides a vibrant, loud, and whacky site design that children are sure to find stimulating and fun. The site asserts itself in bright splashes of blues, greens, yellows, and reds, and there are different categories and menus just about everywhere you look. I think that, aesthetically speaking, Ketnet offers one of the best free cartoon streaming site designs on the web. Though practically speaking, the site is cluttered and chaotic, I feel like a child could navigate it on their own if they have ADD. There are many different directions my eye is being led at one time, making it overwhelming.

Content and Features

There is a lot of content to stream on Ketnet. Although I list Ketnet as one of the best free cartoon sites available today, I should be upfront with you - there are not many cartoons to stream here. There are some, sure, but the number of free cartoons streaming on Ketnet is far outweighed by the number of live-action series and YouTube style videos. I have a big issue with the kind of content that is predominately featured on Ketnet. As I said earlier, I prefer to let my kids explore free streaming sites that are stimulating (not overstimulating), educational, or substantive in some way. However, Ketnet seems overly concerned with providing a sort of kid-friendly version of popular internet culture.

Some of the videos on this website are what I would describe as 'kids' versions of TikTok content. In other words, some of the videos promote a more superficial and vapid way of thinking than I would prefer. For instance, videos with titles like 'Decide what Sander should wear during Kingsize Live?' and 'Create a cool tag for Hoodie actors?' seem to stand out to me. Sure, that sounds fun and all, but can't we blend fun with educational? Maybe I'm just being a stickler or a no-fun parent, but that kind of thing matters a great deal to me.

Ketnet is a streaming site that features popular shows, movies, and games alongside educational content. It's important to note that there is a limited amount of content on Ketnet, compared to other free streaming sites.

Mobile and Desktop Experience

Unfortunately, Ketnet does not appear to have any mobile apps available at this time. Nor does it have any smart TV apps, making it far from the best free cartoon streaming site in terms of cross-platform compatibility. That being said, the browser website is optimized for mobile screens, so it may provide mobile access if you are ever in a pinch. Is it the best mobile site design? Well, not really ? but it gets the job done.
