Some say that it is simply just the children who see things this way, but I believe that it is every individual who lives in a world of their own. This perception separates the way we look at things and is exposed to us when we are young. There is no critical or complex breakdown; it is just beautiful colors and simple storytelling that hooks us to the content. And I am referring to cartoons.
Cartoons are generally directed primarily at children but not exclusively. Even as an adult, I find ?Courage the Cowardly Dog?, and ?Tom & Jerry? to be equally fascinating as when I was small. Yes, there might be a hint of nostalgia that contributes to this bias but it is true - Cartoons are intriguing for viewers of any age. They have a positive and negative impact on us both. However, most cartoons with the edgy approach are scrutinized because of parents' concerns about exposing their children to inappropriate content.
Many people simply label the content without thinking much, and I feel there is a need for a deeper conversation to see if every parent or adult perceives the content the same way or not.
Thus, today we will be reviewing one of the smallest yet the most fascinating communities on the internet - r/cartoons.

My recent experience on r/cartoons

The most recent post I upvoted on r/cartoons was about identification. The OP saw this cartoon at a Roundtable video and was curious to know the name of the cartoon. Within moments of updating this post, he got the answer - Hilda. Not only did he find the name of the cartoon, but also the person who replied suggested that it is available on Netflix. Another user jumped in and shared that roundtable is updating their content and plenty of new content has been added to the mix. Just by this small thread, you get insightful answers that you won't generally get on any other community.

About r/cartoons - Community & Members

The community has a total of 24,200 members. Out of these, 90-150 are online at any given time. This subreddit was created on August 13, 2009, and while it has seen a recent dip in activity, the discussions still happen and so you are unlikely to run out of content anytime soon.

How to access r/cartoons?

If you are not already a Reddit user, you will need to create an account and confirm your email address in order to join the subreddit. Once you have done so, you will be able to follow subreddits, comment on posts, and even post anything on any of the subreddits.

Moderators of r/cartoons

To ensure that the content on r/cartoons is of high quality, moderators need to conduct thorough checks on posts. Spammers and promoters use any means possible to try and gain influence and share their links, often containing malware. This is why moderators should protect members of the community by ensuring that content is of high quality.
At the time of this writing, there are six mods on r/cartoons - ?billybobjorkins?, ?Anonim97?, ?NEOHCrusticus?, ?AnokataX?, ?valeyard10?, and ?AutoModerator?. These mods ensure that all content on this platform complies with the community guidelines.

Why should you follow r/cartoons?

Reddit has a wealth of content on cartoons. You can participate in polls, interviews, reviews, suggestions, and share your fan art. Having fellow cartoon lovers in the community makes you feel open and unjudged. Getting recommendations and providing recommendations is one of the best parts of being on Reddit’s r/cartoons community. The members are welcoming and won’t put you down even if you have a generic question.

Community Engagement

The community engagement rate on r/cartoons is much better than the engagement rate of subs of the same size. More than two dozen posts are updated each day, and you'll find more than 3-5 comments on every single one of them. Some posts are even able to attract more than 50 upvotes within a day and receive comments in double digits. Thus, I can say without a doubt that the community engagement rate on r/cartoons is phenomenal.

Browsing & Navigation

Unlike other subreddits with low real-time member counts, r/cartoons has an impressive active member rate. More than 4% of its members are currently active, however, that doesn't affect the subreddit's performance. Since the number doesn't exceed 150 users at a time, browsing and navigation are not much of a problem. You can check out posts, navigate using menus, and browse seamlessly without any inconsistencies.

Reddit Gold

Although the community has a decent interaction ratio, I could not find gold on any of the posts or in the comment section. There were some fascinating artworks that I saw but still, it wasn't awarded any gold. This particular artist had drawn letter A-Z featuring a cartoon for every alphabet and though it amassed the major upvotes on the sub, it didn't get any gold.

Related Subreddits

One of the great features on this page is the "Related Subreddits" section. Here you can find pages that are related to your current topic. So, if you're into cartoons, be sure to join r/animation, r/CartoonNetwork, and r/TheDragonPrince. With these three recommendations, you get a wealth of information and entertainment options.

Filter by flair

If there is something that lights up my face on a subreddit, then it must be a well-designed filter by flair section. On r/cartoons, you will find eight important options - ?News?, ?Fanart?, ?Interview?, ?General Discussions?, ?Older (Spoilers!), and Recent. Using these filters, you can check out the content that you are interested in without having to scroll through a barrage of unnecessary posts.

I appreciate the design of this page, which features Courage the Cowardly Dog in it. Apart from the well-known icon, I like the colourful cover image and numerous filter by flair options. Additionally, there is a Discord link right below the header. This makes it look as if our community is well integrated.
