The gaming industry has come a long way in the last decade, and it shows no signs of slowing down. In 2010, the gaming industry was only generating $25.1 billion. However, this figure has grown astronomically over the years and is now worth over $160 billion. This growth is not only due to the popularity of certain genres of games, but also because the gaming industry is becoming more inclusive and accessible to a wider audience.
Over the years, newer and better hardware has been developed which has allowed for more realistic gaming experiences. The introduction of faster processors has helped to make games seem even more lifelike, with stunning graphics and an incredible level of interactivity. This is why there is a dedicated subreddit called r/Gaming on Reddit - gaming has truly come a long way over the past few years!
This subreddit is dedicated to sharing short, humorous, and interesting videos. Today we will be reviewing the popular subreddit r/Videos. This subreddit is dedicated to sharing short, humorous, and interesting videos.

My recent experience on r/Gaming

The most recent post on r/Gaming that I saw moved me. It featured an old man exercising his playful demons using a V/R headset. What's lovely about this post was the caption, which was shared by u/randybigbones. This post was such a breath of fresh air in a time where older generations are treating the youth like an outcast because of the dependence on technology. The post within 12 hours of its upload raked in an impressive 66,000 upvotes.

About r/Gaming - Community & Members

With over 26 million members, r/Gaming is one of the most popular subreddits on reddit. I remember starting to follow this page when it was only at 1 million. I can't believe how far it has come since it began its journey back on September 17, 2007. The community has expanded and not that it's bad, but over a period of time, the signal to noise ratio becomes hard to manage.

How to access r/Gaming?

If you are an existing Reddit user, simply type "r/Gaming?" in your search bar and follow the subreddit. If you are new to the platform, you will need to create an account and confirm your email address. Once you do so, you will be able to follow subreddits, comment on posts, and even post anything on any of the subreddits.

Moderators of r/Gaming

The Reddit community for gaming is one of the largest on the website, and it has its own independent platform. The number of subscribers is 22 million, which is not a small figure. Managing this community and maintaining the decorum cannot be an individual's responsibility, as there are many moderators to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning on these pages.
I found 10 main moderators at the time of writing this review - Dacvak, synbios16, gamingmoderator, mookler, Rlight, Analtoast, delicious_cheese, MisterWoodhouse, Redbiertje, and Umdlye.

Why should you follow r/Gaming?

You will find thousands of videos and photos posted each day on this subreddit. Due to the high volume of content posted on this site, each post cannot go through an approval process. It is a super active page and thus the best content on any given day is able to garner 30,000-80,000 upvotes within 24 hours. I mean just by the engagement rate, you can figure that r/Gaming is basically the biggest platform for gamers. For instance, the top five posts today have a cumulative 300,000 upvotes.

Community Engagement

This makes for an engaged and interesting discussion. I find active communities online such as Reddit to be very lively. While this subreddit might have some negatives, such as the fact that one cannot rely on comments to judge it, I feel that taken as a whole it has received over 1 million upvotes every day. In terms of interaction, there are typically about 200-250 comments on each post, with some posts garnering over 1,000 comments. This means that the discussion is always lively and engaging.

Navigation & Playback

Since r/Gaming is a large gaming subreddit, you will find images, videos, and GIFs. Navigating around the menus is seamless. Honestly, I don't have any trouble with browsing and navigation on any of Reddit's pages. Yes, there are times when too many people from the subreddit are online at once and that creates an overload which takes about 5 seconds to get back on track. But overall, watching videos, using sorting functions, commenting, and interacting with users is clean.

Reddit Gold

The average post that ranks first on the day receives 3-5 golds. However, only the top few posts receive the most golds. Posts ranked fifth and below seldom receive any silver even though they have many upvotes. Nevertheless, this isn't an easy community to please and you must bring your best game if you wish to receive gold from a fellow member.

Filter by flair

Unlike r/SciFi, which has an in-depth "Filter by Flair" categorization, r/Gaming does not have this feature. This means that the posts are visible in random order without any tags. So, there are not many ways in which you can sort the content based upon your preference. This may be slightly disappointing given that other subreddits are making the most of this feature and are segregating the content to elevate the user experience.

Important rules you must know before joining r/Gaming?

Many Redditors are eager to join communities, but they often forget to read the rules. This often gets them blocked from the page. Do not want this to happen to you, so here are some important reddit gaming rule tags you should heed.

Design

I love the background banner on this subreddit. It looks great with different icons related to gaming. You'll find clean vectors of Ludo, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC among a few others. I just love how these icons have been designed to fit right in and give this subred a distinctive feel as most of the competitive subreddits have a flat cover image.
Clicking on either of the two will move the post to the corresponding section. Finally, you have the comments and upvotes section. As for the layout and design of this page, you will find a "Join" button right beside r/Gaming. Under that, you will find three options - Posts, Community Rules, and Other communities. Below that, you have the content bar, where you can create a post - add pictures or attachment. Under the posting section, you have three sorting options - Hot, New, Top. Clicking on either of the two will move the post to the corresponding section. Finally, you have the comments and upvotes section.
