Radio.net is a multichannel radio site that has over 30,000 stations. Through the website, users can access over 30,000 stations and podcasts, which is heard by over 31 million visitors a month. It brings variety of stations to user's smartphones and tablets if they don't wish to browse through the website. If we take numbers into account, Radio.net is among the 20 most popular radio streaming websites in the world - not just because of the sheer traffic but also due to app downloads.
History
Radio.net was founded in 2007 as radio.de GmbH and initially had just 1,000 stations. Since its launch, it has allowed users to browse through a list of 4000 stations from all over the world. Three years later, it added another 3000 stations, taking the count to 4,000. Ten years after its establishment, Radio.net has over 30,000 stations on its website!
Once the network reached 4000+ stations, it started its own premium service called Prime, which allowed listeners to stream ad-free. After thorough research, I found an extremely clean and organized website with clear categories and an intuitive search function that makes finding my favorite station easy. Each section on the website has a specific purpose, which helps to create an overall user experience that is unique from traditional radio streaming sites. For example, I can sort channels by genre or location, but I can also use the theme feature to personalize my listening experience.
Personalized Experience
With the help of machine learning, we've been able to understand our taste and preferences in streaming apps, just as with radio.net. It also allows us to save our favorites, allow us to listen to selected radio broadcasts again, and keep changing the homepage section to match our tastes. Design
Radio.net has a cutting-edge design that makes it look premium right from the start. The dark grey background with white text and green accents gives it a premium feel. The developers have maintained a steady color combination throughout the website and thus everything flows well together.
Header
When you visit radio.net, the homepage banner and header section is your first sight. Everything is placed in the center on this website, with nine key options: Home, About Us, Broadcasters, Advertising, Press, Jobs, Blog, Contact and Language. Each of these pages has information about its corresponding subject matter that is broken down on an inner page.
Hero Section
The text of the banner says, ?We provide the best radio stations from around the world.?
The radio.net hero section features a work desk with a laptop and coffee cups. The header includes the welcoming text "Welcome to Radio.net" and additional information about what you can expect on this website.
Body
Radio.net's body section has square banners that highlight the web and in-app services. On the left, you can find a banner relating to the browser and on the right, there is an app support banner suggesting that the app is available on App Store, Google Play Store, Windows Store and even on Blackberry.
As you scroll further down on this page, you'll find current events that haven't been updated since September 2019. Two illustrations are included- one of your station on radio.net and another of advertising on radio.net. It's for stations who want to get their station onto the network, or for advertisers who want to spread brand awareness using radio.net.
Inner pages
The website's inner pages maintain a dark grey, white and green color scheme. There are options such as Top Stations, Near You, Genres, News, Comedy, Culture, and More Topics. If you click on any of these titles, you'll be provided content in a similar format. As you go over each of these categories, you'll find ten square thumbnails with their channel names.
I clicked on the top stations, and found Hot 107.9, WTOP 103.5 Top News, and ESPN Radio among many other options. The format is similar for all the other categories except More Topics. If I hover on that option, I'll find different niches such as Sports, DJ, Politics, Science, Society, Knowledge, Religion, Economy, Language, Interview, Region, People Music, and Children.
Footer
Radio.net has five different menus, each with its own set of options. The company menu has information about the brand and its press releases, blogs, advertising opportunities, and broadcasting opportunities. The legal menu has standard terms of use, privacy policy, and legal notice options. The service menu has contact information, apps, FAQ option, and under apps it has iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry. Lastly the social menu has information about six social media networks- Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube and Zing.

I've been listening to a lot of podcasts lately and I really enjoy the massive content library offered by radio.net. Apart from podcasts, I like their collection of sports radio stations along with smooth jazz and classic rock stations. Recently, I noticed my homepage adapting to my taste and usually all my favorite podcasts and stations would be present on the homepage itself. There's no need to go searching for them as everything is neatly organized for you, making the browsing experience great.
Desktop/Mobile experience
I have a premium version of Radio.net on my iPhone XR and I must say that it is one of the most amazing apps on my phone. Its airplay feature allows me to use this app on external speakers. If you are an Android user, you can make use of the Chromecast and thus stream best podcasts on your smart home devices without any hassle.
I like the offline feature, sleep timer, and radio alarm on this app. If you like to sleep while listening to music, these features are going to be useful to you. The offline feature lets you listen to music without internet connection. The sleep timer lets you set a time after which the music will stop automatically. You can also use it to set up an alarm to wake you up in the morning.

Suggestions I have for Radio.net
Sometimes updates can cause discrepancies when playing favorite channels. For example, I was listening to WHTZ z100 radio channel and it kept crashing after every five seconds. Though the issue was resolved later, I would like the developers to look into the issue.
