subsonic.org
With music server software such as Subsonic, you can control the server. This allows you to download music locally, store it, access and share it at any given time.
Your personal music collection does not compare to Spotify in terms of the depth of its content. For example, the movie soundtracks and classic mixtapes that are part of your collection are not commonly found on Spotify. Additionally, Spotify has a wider variety of music than what you can find on your own. That is all.

Your server can be personalized, making it accessible by using yourname.subsonic.org address. If you're an app developer, you can also make use of the REST API.
Integrated web services
As mentioned earlier, the best part about Subsonic is that you can automatically register what you are playing on last.fm using the built-in feature. You can access covert art and lyrics using Chartlyrics and Google. You'll find artist images, biography, and similar artists from Last.fm. In addition to these handy features, you can also read album reviews on popular sites such as All Music, Wikipedia, and Google Music.

With LDAP and Active Directory you can even integrate authentication. You don't have to worry about sharing your data or any other information which these modern apps exploit these days. Using the HTTPS/SSL encryption, you can choose the ultimate protection.
Ultimate Media Monk

How to access Subsonic?
You can access Subsonic by searching for it in your search engine. If you find the website on the first page of results, you can also access it by clicking on the Subsonic screenshot on the left.
Design
The media server website Subsonic must have one of the most intriguing designs. Everything from the logo to the homepage banner and the body section looks glued together. Each section complements the other and helps it stand out. The interchanging white/black text with a white background gives the website a clean look.
Header
The header section of the website has a logo on the left, and eight options (including "Home", "Premium", "Apps", "Sonos", "Demo?", "Help?", "API?", and "Download") are on the right. I really love the header blending into the hero section with a festival image in the background.
Hero Section
The banner headline reads ?Listen up: the newest audio technology from Sony?. Beneath that, the CTA buttons are for ?Listen now? and ?Learn more?.
The Hero section has a dynamic banner with a headline and two buttons. The headline reads "Subsonic - Your complete, personal media streamer?". Under that, you can find two CTA buttons - "Download?" and "Learn More?". At the lower end, you can also find a headline from an integrated banner in the body section. The banner headline reads "Listen up: the newest audio technology from Sony." Beneath that, the CTA buttons are for "Listen now" and "Learn more?"
Body
The body section of the website starts with a banner consisting of a family watching TV together. Above the image, you have the headline "Stream from your own computer. Your media - your terms." Under the primary banner, you have two sections - "Packed with features?" and "Don't leave home without it?". Under the first banner, you have "See all features?" as the CTA while under the second banner you have "See all Apps?" as the CTA. Upon scrolling further, you'll find "How does it work?" section followed by the final CTA banner with a blue background.
Footer
The footer section on the website only has one navigation button, which is for support. I'm slightly disappointed with this section and you have to scroll all the way to the top if you want to access the inner pages.
Inner Pages
There are many pages on the website with content rich in text. You can learn about features, how to set up the device, what benefits it offers, and much more on these pages. You can download the software and learn about the apps on these pages. You can even try out demos using one of the pages.
Subsonic Interface
The best thing about Subsonic is that you can enjoy a demo using demo.subsonic.org. The website will give you a fair idea about what to expect on the network. The homepage has a drop-down menu on the left followed by seven options - Home, Index, Playing, Starred, Playlists, and Podcasts on the right. You can even use the search bar on the extreme right to find suitable content. You can sort the content based on factors such as ?Random?, ?Recently Added?, ?Starred?, ?Top Rated?, ?Most Played?, and ?Recently Played?.
Plans & Pricing
Under the three payment plans, you have the option of recurring payments, one-time payments, or lifetime subscriptions. With the recurring payment plan, you pay $1/month (you can cancel at any time). With the one-time payment plan, you pay a set amount for a period of 1-8 years (the price is calculated at $1/month). With the lifetime subscription plan, you pay $99 and can access the platform at any time without paying another penny.
Suggestions I have for Subsonic
Subsonic is a great platform but there are many issues with compatibility and streaming adjustment. It is affordable, so I am sure it will attract a lot of users once these problems are fixed.
Conclusion
Though great for managing music and other media, subsonic is not the best choice in today's time. Sure, it is compatible with 25 devices, but that is nothing compared to the compatibility we currently have. The premium version lacks subtitle support and cannot adjust quality settings, which makes it less desirable than other options. In spite of these disadvantages, subsonic still has many benefits.
