Fenerbahçe is a Turkish football club from Kadikoy in Istanbul, which belongs to Fenerbahce SK. With 19 national championships (most recently in 2014), Fenerbahçe is one of the most successful Turkish clubs and has already won the Süper Lig six times - including last year! Fenerbahce have a rich history and their achievements are nothing short of historic. They were the first Turkish football team in Europe when they won a European title in 1966/67 with the Balkan Cup after beating AEK Athens 3-1 (2-1 final). They have also had some notable successes in UEFA competition, reaching the 2007/08 Champions League quarter-finals against Chelsea, which ended 2-1 with a pre-half own goal from Blues defender Branislav Ivanovic, followed by a 1-0 defeat away in Oslo (Norway) in which Atlético midfielder Koke scored the late winner and gave the Lisbon side their fourth straight win against Istanbul.
